Welcome to the Bigwoods Family OVUM Hair + Scalp Oil! The final edition to our OVUM collection trio.

Egg oil has been used in traditional medicine in Jewish, Greek, Arab, Chinese and Indian cultures for 1000’s of years. The process to make this oil is quite simple it just has many steps to get to the finished product. We collect the eggs from our hens, hard boil, peel, separate the golden yolks, FREEZE DRY, powder, tincture and then distill the mixture into a pure oil.

SQUALANE: offers silky smooth texture without a greasy feeling [you can use it liberally, even daily if need be] …prevents dry hair by coating the hair & infusing moisture, provides heat protection, strengthens the hair shaft, improves shine, enhances elasticity to prevent future breakage. Also, its non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores if you use on your face which we highly recommend trying right after a shower.

OVUM OIL: egg yolk oil is a natural source of panthenol. Panthenol is shown to penetrate moisture into the lower skin layers & deep into each hair strand & shaft. Rich in cholesterol which is an active emollient that has been shown to strengthen the hair by reducing frizz & conditioning the hair follicle. Cholesterol also helps to absorb oil into the epidermis, stabilize & maintain the simple, yet complex intercellular-skin matrix which has been shown to allow hair [& skin] to naturally repair & rejuvenate. With slow beauty skincare here at Bigwoods Organics we follow the “all you need is less” principle which supports this natural balance that is occurring in the cells. HOW TO USE:

FOR REGROWTH>>> apply a generous amount to dry hair on crown, middle part & push/massage into scalp on your wash day

FOR PROTECTION>>> before your shower use this as a pre-shower oil treatment

FOR MENDING & HEAT PROTECTION>>> apply a small amount (start with 3 drops) to damp hair right after your shower on your mids & ends

FOR FINISHING>>> apply a small amount to mids & ends after a blowdry or airdry

FOR HAIR MASK>>> apply a generous amount to dry hair on wash day. Leave on for 5-10 min or overnight with a shower cap or silk hair turban. Rinse, shampoo & condition as normal. Remember when applying any oils to your scalp to CLARIFY to keep scalp healthy.

FOR CRADLE CAP ON BABY>>> massage, push lightly into baby’s scalp > use fine tooth comb to break skin off gently > rinse with a baby shampoo & warm water

ADDITIONAL USES:

>>> Mix a few drops with your fav Bigwoods tallow moisturizer for a hydration boost! AVOID delicate eye area skin when applying to the face. Ovum is an animal-based retinol.

>>> Add a few drops to your conditioner for added shine & moisture retention

>>> Blend with your favorite liquid foundation or use on bare faced look to give face a dewy look
