Our Ovum Balm is the new favorite around here because it goes on a bit thicker than the Ovum Serum application! This can be helpful for those who want to use a little more or for those who are generally sensitive to retinols.

This balm penetrates quickly giving you an instantly plumper & more youthful glow by delivering essential fatty acids, minerals, vitamins A (retinol) D, E, K, B1, B2 B5, B6, B9 & B12 into the skin. The high-quality cholesterol found in our organic egg yolks (raised here on Bigwoods Farm!) helps heal dry, damaged & hyperpigmented skin without the greasy mess.

Egg oil has been used in traditional medicine in Jewish, Greek, Arab, Chinese and Indian cultures for 1000’s of years. The process to make this oil is quite simple it just has many steps to get to the finished product.

We collect the eggs from our hens, hard boil, peel, separate the golden yolks, FREEZE DRY, powder, tincture and then distill the mixture into a pure oil.

What you have left is a beautiful liquid gold oil >>> & a very potent, bioavailable & fatty animal-based BALM!

To make just 4 oz of Ovum Oil we need to collect and process about 100 eggs.

We have blended our egg oil with jojoba infused with homegrown holy basil, chicory root, chamomile, calendula & local beeswax. The resulting combination is this luxurious egg balm great for dry skin, acne prone skin, large pores, premature aging, eczema, burns, sun damage & authentic aging.

Holy Basil is a powerful pore cleansing adaptogen that can combat current but also future stresses to your skin. Chicory root is an amazing natural inflammation reducer because it contains beta-carotene, which increases collagen production. Chamomile & calendula are very calming to skin inflammation.

HOW TO USE: use at night for DEEP REPAIR by applying a dime sized amount to your DAMP face. During the day a pea sized amount for a glowing plumping effect. The warmth from your body will immediately melt the balm & it will absorb quickly into your skin.

*This is a high VIT A aka retinol product, so mind the EYE AREA if you have sensitive skin.

*Egg oil is naturally an occlusive, emollient & humectant PLUS a very powerful animal-based retinol. We advise adding one of our whipped tallows with the Ovum Balm & Ovum Serum to keep the skin fully hydrated & the retinol encapsulated in the fats to protect the skin barrier. Using the classic retinol “sandwich” technique is very helpful for those with dry & dehydrated skin but who also need some REPAIR work.
